Current COVID-19 Information
If you are awarded a scholarship and the 2020 Festival must be canceled due to public health concerns, your scholarship will automatically be applied to the 2021 Festival. We encourage you to apply!
The Festival awards a limited number of full and partial-tuition scholarships to dancers with financial need who demonstrate a high level of commitment, creativity and technical/performance ability. Room and board costs are the responsibility of the student in most cases. Application materials are reviewed by a panel of dance professionals.
A limited number of partial-tuition scholarships are available to Maine students with demonstrated financial need and a commitment to serious dance study. Applicants must be full-time residents of Maine.
To apply for a scholarship you must first complete the Festival application form. Scholarship applicants may apply in one category only and must submit:
- The scholarship application form
- A copy of the first page only of your (or your parents’ if you are claimed as a dependent) most recently filed 1040 federal tax return OR a one-page narrative detailing financial need, inclusive of income and contextualizing circumstances.
All scholarship materials, including the Scholarship Recommendation Form and Work Reference Form, must be received by Wednesday, April 1, 2020 by 11:59pm EST. Late or incomplete applications will not be considered. Notification will be emailed by April 17, 2020.
