Honest Reactions to Imaginary Situations explores the excitement of making performance. This class explores how to react honestly in imaginary situations, grounding both performance and creation in absolute truth. It treats the performer as the creator and the creator as the performer – on stage and off. Rooted in Kelly’s devised theatre methodology, the class relies on repetition and trial and error to unlock raw, responsive performance. Each class will explore the seven key areas of Raja’s approach to performing truthfully in an imagined world: Extempore, Interrogation, Debate, Agility, Nothing, Tension and Freedom. Each can develop deep awareness and your imaginary force, and when used properly, can produce a rare kind of radical honesty.
