Floorwork & Physical Theatre

Jason Reese C.

This class explores a floorwork progression rooted in somatic philosophy, guiding students through the building blocks of functional movement. We will gradually expand physical capacity while emphasizing efficiency and sustainability.

Through improvisation and structured games, students will investigate core movement principles and broaden their physical vocabulary. The class also engages with physical theatre methodologies, ranging from clowning to psychological realism, encouraging both play and depth.

Our work aims to uncover the relationship between human behavior, abstracted movement, and surreal expression, bridging the physical and the imaginative to develop a more nuanced and embodied performance practice.
