About Samuel

Samuel Melecio-Zambrano is a movement artist and teacher from the Florida Panhandle, receiving their BFA in Dance Performance from the University of South Florida in 2018. Melecio-Zambrano went on to further their training in Australia under Countertechnique founder Anouk van Dijk, and has since completed two Countertechnique Teacher Trainings (2021, 2024). They have taught workshops nationally, including at the American Dance Festival and Bates Dance Festival, and internationally in Mexico, Colombia, the Netherlands, and Ireland. In San Francisco,  they performed with BANDALOOP, Robert Moses’ Kin, Jennifer Perfilio Movement Works, and Mark Foehringer Dance Projects, in addition to their own work. Now in New York, they are a dancer with Trisha Brown Dance Company.
