About Maree

Born in South Korea and raised in Ohio, Maree ReMalia is a choreographer, performer, teaching artist, and certified Gaga instructor. She welcomes individuals across disciplines, identities, and experience levels to dance as a way to celebrate more kinds of moving bodies and a diverse range of expressions. Her collaborative performance works have been commissioned by Gibney DoublePlus Festival (NY) under the curation of Bebe Miller and have been presented at venues such as Dance Place (DC), Kelly Strayhorn Theater (PA), La MaMa Experimental Theater Club (NY), Lion’s Jaw Performance + Dance Festival (MA), Movement Research at the Judson Church (NY), and Daegu International Dance Festival (South Korea). Since earning her MFA at The Ohio State University (2011), recent collaborations include David Bernabo, Lillian Cho, Gigi Gatewood, Hatch Arts Collective, Rickey Laurentiis, slowdanger, and Blaine Siegel and Jil Stifel. She has performed in the work of Gabriel Forestieri, Bebe Miller, Michael J. Morris, Ohad Naharin, Christopher Williams, Lida Winfield, and Noa Zuk. From 2015-2017, she was selected as the Andrew W. Mellon Interdisciplinary Choreographer for Middlebury College Movement Matters Residency and was faculty at Point Park University 2017-2019.
