About Jason

Jason Cianciulli is a movement artist, actor, choreographer, and educator working at the intersection of floorwork, physical theatre, and somatic practice. His work explores the relationship between human behavior, abstraction, and surreal expression, drawing on improvisation, game-based structures, and physical theatre methodologies. He is particularly interested in how the body adapts under pressure, investigating the role of the nervous system in performance, presence, and transformation.

He holds an MFA from the University of Michigan. Jason was a founding member, rehearsal director, and co-choreographer of VIM VIGOR, and has worked with Punchdrunk NYC, serving as rehearsal director for Sleep No More. He has previously served as a lecturer at the University of Michigan and SUNY Purchase.
As an educator, his teaching centers on functional movement, nervous system regulation, and the use of improvisational structures to expand physical capacity, responsiveness, and embodied awareness.
