About Christina
Christina Robson is a performer, educator, and choreographer from Boston, Massachusetts. Her extensive performance career includes long-term collaborations with the Bill T. Jones/Arnie Zane Company, David Dorfman Dance, and Sean Curran Company, where she performed historic repertory and premiered several original evening-length works at The Kennedy Center, Jacob’s Pillow, The Joyce Theater, and the American Dance Festival. She toured internationally for two seasons with Dance Motion USA, a cross-cultural exchange partnership between the Brooklyn Academy of Music and the U.S. Department of State.
Robson’s work with Monica Bill Barnes & Company includes collaborations with Ira Glass of This American Life in Three Acts, Two Dancers, One Radio Host and This American Life Live! at NYU’s Skirball Center. She was also a performer in the Bessie Award–winning immersive theater production Then She Fell by Third Rail Projects. Her decade-long collaborative relationships with Heidi Henderson and Kendra Portier continue to shape her artistic voice. Dance Magazine’s associate editor Rachel Rizzuto described her as “the modern dancer to watch of this next generation—her ability to mold herself to any number of choreographers’ styles with ease and detail is truly exceptional.”
As an educator, Robson has been on rotating faculty at Gibney Dance and Peridance Capezio Center, and has taught in pre-professional programs at The Joffrey Ballet, Bates Dance Festival YDI, DanceWave, and 92nd Street Y. In partnership with the Mellon Foundation and Arts Transcending Borders, she facilitated a choreographic residency with NCAA Division I athletes at the College of the Holy Cross, exploring the intersection of athleticism and partnering.
Her choreographic work has been presented by George Mason University, University of Maryland, Roger Williams University, NYU Tisch, Barnard College, SUNY Purchase, The Hartt School, Connecticut College, Triskelion Arts, HSPVA, The Wooden Floor, Providence Water Fire Festival, and Bethany Arts. In 2024, Robson received the Choreographic Excellence Award from the American College Dance Association, and in 2025, her work Sounding Fray, created in collaboration with Bates College, was selected for the ACDA National Gala and Jacob’s Pillow national selects.
Robson holds an MFA from the University of Maryland and currently serves as a full-time faculty member at George Mason University in Fairfax, Virginia. When she’s not dancing, she can be found tending her garden, playing with her two energetic rescue dogs, or chasing after her five chickens.
