Intro to Interactivity
Input ? processing ? output. This is how we function – from the mundanest of moments to the height of our epiphanies. We gather information from our eyes, ears, nose, skin, gut – we think about those things (consciously or not) and we act, dance, move, revolt, sleep. It is human nature. It is also how interactivity works. Input ? processing ? output. In this course we discover first how to demystify interactivity through looking at its component parts, move through the process of decoupling the concept of “technology” from being a specialization, and learn how to incorporate interactive ideas into our own practices using camera tracking, biometric sensors, and rulesets as templates. The focus is on ideas over technology. Isadora and Arduino will be used as platforms, taught from the ground up, and all equipment will be provided. Beginners through “experts” encouraged.
