About Sarah

Currently Dance Director at The Taft School, Sarah Surber has also served on the faculties of The Hartt School Community Division, The New Haven Ballet, and The Limón Institute NYC and as a visiting professor at Bucknell University.  She is an ABT® Certified Teacher of the ABT® National Training Curriculum and earned a Master’s of Fine Arts in Dance Performance and Teaching from Purchase College, SUNY in 2011, receiving the MFA Award for Excellence. As a performer, Ms. Surber toured extensively with Carolyn Dorfman Dance and with many other NY, NJ, PA and CT-based companies for whom she was a featured dancer and stager and rehearsal director for many works.  Her choreography has been presented by several colleges and schools throughout the northeast and, as an undergraduate, she was selected to co-choreograph Copacetic with Professor Danna Frangione for the Tsoying Dance Ensemble in Kaohsiung, Taiwan.
